Schedule Time With Dan  

Dan founded Daniel J. Galli & Associates over 30 years ago. His practice includes a wide range of financial planning and investment management services, with a focus on retirement planning for professionals, small business owners, teachers, and individuals. 

Since 1997 Dan has taught courses on retirement, employee benefits, and financial planning for students in the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) programs at both Northeastern University and Boston University. His ongoing work with BU includes updating BU’s CFP® program curriculum as tax laws and other regulations are changed.

Dan is a well-regarded and well-known presenter and educator for PFE Advisors, LLC, a firm that provides financial education and other benefits to employees of PFE’s corporate clients. He has traveled nationally for PFE, presenting educational financial workshops to employees of firms like Northern Trust, Forrester Research, Dunkin Brands, MathWorks, Akamai, The Broad Institute, and the Archdiocese of Boston.

Dan’s expertise in all fields of financial planning, but especially with regard to retirement strategies, has meant that he is a sought-after contributor to articles in various publications, including the Boston Herald, the Boston Globe, Kiplinger’s, CNBC, and CBS MarketWatch, among others.

Prior to changing fields into financial planning, Dan was a public school teacher, teaching third grade in Scituate, Massachusetts for eleven years. He remains passionate about education and about helping teachers and administrators understand their retirement benefits.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Boston University and a master’s degree from Bridgewater State University, both in education. Dan has been a CFP® certificant since 1997 and is also a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 66, and 24 licenses.

Dan is a long time member of the Financial Planning Association, and has served at both the local and national levels in various capacities, including committee member, chapter board member, and chapter president. The local chapter named him Financial Planner of the Year in 2017. He currently serves on the national Board of Directors of the FPA.

Dan lives in Marshfield, Massachusetts with his wife Louise. They have two grown children, Michael and Lauren, and three grandchildren.

 

*Candidates for the FPA Financial Planner of the Year must be a current FPA member and a CFP® practitioner in good standing who is experienced in financial planning topics and currently preparing comprehensive plans.  In addition, candidates must also demonstrate one of the following: history of involvement in the FPA of MA, community service, career development for new financial planners or advocacy on behalf of the profession.

Schedule Time With Karen 

Karen is the firm’s Director of Financial Planning, and joined Daniel J. Galli & Associates in 2019. She advises clients and their families on a wide range of topics including investment management, retirement planning, tax management, estate planning, insurance coverage, college planning, and charitable giving. She manages the firm’s financial planning practice and often presents and teaches on such topics, to professionals, other financial planners, and consumers.

She has worked in the field of financial planning and wealth management for more than 25 years, serving clients at several independent, boutique Boston-area wealth management firms, including six years as Director and then Vice President at Sapers & Wallack in Newton; a year as Senior Relationship Manager at Lexington Wealth Management in Lexington; ten years as Vice President and Relationship Manager at Tanager Financial Services (subsequently Wachovia and then Wells Fargo) in Waltham, and four years at Applegarth Advisory Group in Winchester.

Karen received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College and has been a Certified Financial Planner™(CFP®) certificant since 2002. She has been an active member of the Financial Planning Association for many years, and currently serves on the board of the New England Chapter as its Membership Director.

Karen grew up in Ohio but settled in the Boston area after college. She is active in the town of Natick and serves in several leadership positions at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church there. She lives in Natick with her husband and their three teenaged children.

Colleen Richards

Director of Client Relations

Colleen is Daniel J. Galli & Associates’ Director of Client Relations, and has worked for the firm since 2009. She manages all of the details of the daily running of our office, and consistently provides a high level of attention and service to clients or others who reach out to the firm. Colleen’s role touches all corners of our staff’s and our clients’ daily lives, including scheduling, marketing, financial planning, investment management, connections with outside professionals, and more.

She is fully securities licensed and holds her FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 registrations.

Colleen was born and raised in Kingston, Massachusetts where she lives today with her husband Ken and their three young adult children Jacob, Jillian and Brody. She spends her weekends on the ocean beach across the street from her home, making her colleagues jealous.  

Brian Franford

Brian joined Daniel J. Galli & Associates in early 2021. He is an associate financial planner and handles much of the behind-the-scenes work for both short-term financial plans and ongoing client relationships. Brian is passionate about helping others, and enjoys seeing clients spend their time and resources on the things that bring them the most joy in life.

Prior to joining DJG&A, Brian worked in the financial services field for several years. Initially, Brian enjoyed a 13-year career in commercial real estate development, before shifting fields into financial planning.

Brian received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in 2002, and his master’s in real estate development in 2007. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, and is currently studying to become a Certified Financial Planner™.

In his free time, Brian enjoys fishing, hiking, biking, and spending time with his wife Sarah and their two young daughters at their home in Arlington, Massachusetts.

 

Linda Austin

Communications and Marketing Consultant

Linda Austin has been a friend of Daniel J. Galli & Associates for many years, and recently started working part-time for the firm on external marketing and communications. She is the consistency, thoughtfulness, and visual design behind our monthly newsletter, educational webinars, and other events.
 
Prior to working with DJG&A, Linda worked in the financial and benefits communications field for over forty years before “retiring” in August 2019. Prior to her retirement, Linda was the Managing Consultant of the Communications and Education practice at The PFE Group (now a Goldman Sachs company). During her tenure at PFE, Linda and her staff of consultants developed financial education for employees of significant employers regionally and nationwide. Prior to The PFE Group, Linda ran her own consulting firm, Austin & Associates, worked at Mercer, Deloitte & Touche, Employees Communication Services, and The Travelers.
 
Linda has a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in upstate New York.
 
She and her husband David are both enjoying their semi-retirement by splitting their time between Burlington, Massachusetts and Overland Park, Kansas, where they have apartments eight minutes away from their children and grandchildren.

Lauren Kelebesa

Chief Operating Officer

Lauren has served as Chief Operating Officer at Daniel J. Galli & Associates since 2018. It’s in this capacity that she provides management insight, leadership initiative, and strategic planning efforts, all of which has resulted in the growth of the firm in recent years.

She was previously the Managing Director of Finance, Operations, and Human Resources for The Phoenix Charter Academy Network, located in Boston.

Lauren received her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston in 2005. In 2017 she graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern’s School of Business, earning an MBA with specializations in finance as well as in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Lauren, her husband Noble, and their two children live in Hanover, Massachusetts.
